Redfern Jarjum College
We are a Jesuit primary school for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Redfern, providing fee-free education, culture, care and community.
What we do
A small school with a full circle of support.
Our students come to Jarjum from across Redfern and surrounding communities. Many have not been able to participate or thrive in mainstream schooling due to complex family circumstances, health needs or learning barriers. With small class sizes, daily wrap-around support, and a culturally grounded, relational model, we help each child grow in confidence, identity, wellbeing and learning.
Culture
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, voice and identity are central to school life.

Individual learning plans, literacy and numeracy support, and high staff to student care.
Wellbeing
Pastoral care, meals, transport, uniforms, health checks and family support.

Wrap-around support
Everything a child needs to learn, belong and shine.
Jarjum is more than a classroom. Our model removes barriers to learning by surrounding each child and family with practical, cultural, health and wellbeing support.
Small classes
Maximum 8 students, with additional learning support staff.
Meals
Cooked breakfast, lunch, morning tea and afternoon snack.
Uniforms
School shirts, shorts, hoody, rain jacket, shoes, hat, swimmers and school bag.
Technology
Access to an iPad or laptop, plus the materials needed for learning.
Health support
Speech therapy, paediatric reviews, hearing, eye and dental screenings.
Transport
Daily door-to-door transport to and from school.
Activities
Learn to swim, music, sport, excursions and Year 5 and 6 school camp.
Culture programs
Culture lessons, storytelling, art, dance and connection to community.
Family support
Strong relationships with families, Elders, carers, services and community partners.
